Published by the Stockholm Environment Institute, Climate Analytics, and the International Institute for Sustainable Development, the report highlights the Production Gap, which refers to the difference between the fossil fuel production planned or projected by governments and the global production levels that align with keeping global warming to 1.5°C or 2°C. By 2030, the planned production of fossil fuels is expected to surpass the levels needed to limit warming to 1.5°C by over 120% and to 2°C by 77%.
