In the Palamau Tiger Reserve in Jharkhand, which houses India's first and only dedicated wolf sanctuary, there is a distinctive tradition observed by the tribals of the Sarna faith. During the winter months, they refrain from entering the Sal Forest. The Burha River traverses the Mahuadanr valley in this region.
