News Context

The National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) has reported considerable damage to the KLIP barrages following the flooding incident in 2023. This project is recognized as the world's largest multi-stage lift irrigation project and is located on the Godavari River in Kaleshwaram, Telangana. The Godavari River, also known as Dakshin Ganga, is the largest river in the Peninsular region. It originates from the Western Ghats in Nasik, Maharashtra, and flows into the Bay of Bengal.
