• Localized regions of air cooled by evaporation that descend and disperse across the surface beneath rain-bearing clouds.
 • Phenomenon: During a storm, some rain evaporates before hitting the ground, cooling the air and increasing its density. This cool, dense air descends and spreads out over the ground, creating a cold pool that resembles a shallow, cold bubble.
