Subansiri River ( UPSC Prelims)

News Context

The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (LEP) has officially commenced commercial operations. Originating in Tibet, this river is the largest tributary of the Brahmaputra. Its course takes it through Arunachal Pradesh, then into Assam, where it merges with the Brahmaputra. Known as the "Gold River," there are also other projects like the Oju Hydroelectric Project associated with it.
