United Nations Forum on Forests ( UPSC Prelims)

News Context

India took part in the 20th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) in New York, reiterating its dedication to the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests 2017–2030.
  ● Established by: The UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) through Resolution 2000/35 in October 2000.  
  ● Main Objective: To advance the management, conservation, and sustainable development of all forest types and to strengthen long-term political commitment.  
  ● Membership: Comprises all UN member states and specialized agencies.
