The initiative was introduced during the 15th BRICS Agriculture Meeting in Brazil.
 • Its goals include tackling land degradation, desertification, and the decline in soil fertility, aiming to support small farmers, tribals, and other affected groups.
 • Need/Relevance: There is a significant issue with land degradation, as illustrated by the fact that in India, approximately 32% of land is degraded, and 25% is experiencing desertification, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
