Davis strait Proto-Microcontinent ( UPSC Prelims)

Researchers have uncovered a concealed continent beneath the ice of Greenland, known as the Davis Strait Proto-Microcontinent. Proto-Microcontinents are defined as "areas of relatively thick continental lithosphere that are isolated from major continents by a zone of thinner continental lithosphere." This particular proto-microcontinent is situated beneath the Davis Strait, which links the Labrador Sea and Baffin Bay.
