Central Asian Mammals Initiative (CAMI) ( UPSC Prelims)

News Context

Central Asian countries have united under CAMI to safeguard 17 common species, including the Saiga and Bukhara Deer.
  ● CAMI was initiated in 2014 during the 11th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP11) to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS).  
  ● Objective: To synchronize conservation initiatives for 17 essential migratory mammal species in Central Asia.
